Schoology Parent Access Information
As you may be aware, Gananda Schools are now using a new Learning Management System, Schoology, (pronounced: Skool’uh-jee). Schoology is an online learning platform that integrates courses from Infinite Campus, learning tools from GSuite Apps for Education and other learning tools into one central location for students, teachers and parents. Schoology offers students a robust learning platform that puts assignments, materials, and grades in one location. With the Schoology mobile app, due dates and assignment materials are at their fingertips. Teachers can review student work and provide feedback through the system. As a parent, you are able to view your child’s activity within the platform.

To access your parent account:

1. Go to www.schoology.com and select “Log In” in the top right hand corner. (Do not
select “Sign Up”
2. Select “Forgot your password”
3. Please enter the email address you have provided to us for contact
     a. Check your email. You will receive an email at that address with the subject line: ”How to
     Change Your Schoology Password”
     b. Use the link provided in the email to setup your Schoology password. Click Submit to save
     your information
     c. You can now login from the Schoology.com Log In button.  If the system does not
recognize your email address, it will display a red “ Please enter a valid email address
message.”  In this case, please contact your child’s school to change or correct your email
address in our system. Once the email address is corrected, it will take up to 24 hours for you
to be able to login with the correct email address. After your email address is updated, now
you will need to create and confirm your password by following the steps 1-3 above

I can’t see all my kids in my account?
If not all your kids are showing in the drop down in the top right hand corner, this probably
means that there is a missing link between your children in our student information system.
Please contact your school office to have a district person correct the link. Once the link is
corrected, it will take up to 24 hours for this correction to be seen in Schoology.

When I try to add my kids, it is asking for a code?
You should automatically see all of your kids. If not all your kids are showing in the drop down
in the top right hand corner, this probably means that there is a missing link between your
children in our student information system. Please contact your school office to have a district
person correct the link. Once the link is corrected, it will take up to 24 hours for this correction
to be seen in Schoology. We do not use codes.

Does each parent have a separate account?
Yes, each parent can have a separate account as long as each parent has a different contact
email address in our student information system. If parents choose to share an account using
one email address and password, that works too.

Is the password the same as Infinite Campus Portal?
No. Parents will create a password for Schoology and will need to remember this password. If
a parent forgets his/her password use the “Forgot Your Password” link from Schoology.com.

Can I see grades in Schoology?
Yes and no. While assignment grades will be posted in Schoology, grades in Schoology may
not be updated each day, as teachers need time to accurately assess each assignment and
enter grades. While educators in grades 6-12 will be using Schoology regularly this year, we
are excited to also launch a staggered release for our elementary learners. At the elementary
level, we are encouraging educators to begin exploring how this tool might be used within
their classrooms this year. However, not all classrooms will be using Schoology right away.
Elementary educators may begin using Schoology this year, but it may not be an integrated
part of their classroom workflow. For this reason, you may see more Schoology classroom
content for your Middle School and High School learners.

We look forward to using Schoology in our classrooms to enhance connectivity and
communication across Gananda. If you have questions or feedback about the site, please
email us at schoology@gananda.org.
