Stars of Tomorrow, a program that recognizes local high school musicals in a Tony® Award show event is made possible by the Rochester Broadway Theatre League (RBLT). Supporting the process of growth and learning, the program encourages commitment, discipline and teamwork and acknowledges excellence in the performing arts. High schools within a 9-county area are divided into four divisions based on population and geographic area, and judges score individual schools based on their Dance, Acting and Singing Ensemble, Acting Ensemble, Supporting Actor/Actress, Production Crew, Student Orchestra, Overall Musical Production and Leading Actor/Actress. The annual Stars of Tomorrow Recognition Ceremony, provides participating schools the opportunity to perform a selection from their musical on stage at the Auditorium Theatre. Schools with the highest scores in each of the categories are given Awards of recognition while also providing students a chance to shine.
