District Equity Committee

GCSD is excited to announce the creation of a districtwide Equity Committee. The purpose of this committee is to develop our mission and vision, prioritize our efforts, support the planning of community and family outreach events, and assist with the review and implementation of our equity audit action plans. This partnership will also support the District’s current equity-related work in the areas of curriculum, instruction, professional development, and human resources.

We have identified parent, community, teacher, and student members that represent a range of backgrounds and perspectives who will support the District with this work. We know our school community is stronger because of our differences and look forward to fostering these critical partnerships.

We are continuing to seek volunteers to serve on our Equity subcommittees in the following areas: Curriculum and Assessment, Professional Development, Family and Community Engagement, Workforce Development, Welcoming and Affirming Environment, and Diverse Schools/Learning Opportunities.
