					RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide students safe and efficient transportation to and from school so they may enjoy the fullest possible
advantage from the District’s curriculum and extracurricular program.
Obeys all traffic laws.
Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
Maintains discipline when students are on bus.
Reports misbehaving students to the proper authority.
Keeps assigned bus clean, fills with gas, checks oil, air, etc. Completes daily pre-operation check list.
Keeps to assigned schedule.
Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
Notifies the proper authority in case of/or suspected mechanical failure.
Discharges students only at authorized stops.
Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
Transports only authorized students.
Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
Various other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Makes recommendations on establishing bus route change.
Valid license to drive a school bus.
Mandatory fingerprint clearance.
Health and age requirements as required by the State Education Department and Board of Education

						Requirements
						
				
					Must hold a CDL B license with an PS endorsement and have a clean driving record. No CDL B license - the district will provide training to obtain class B license if you do not have one. Please contact Scott Remillard at 315-986-4278 to inquire about the bus driver training program.
