Results of School Budget and Board of Education Vote

VOTE RESULTS - May 16, 2023, 6:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M.

Mr. Dax Phillips, Chief Election Inspector, declared the polls open at 6:00 a.m. At 9:00 p.m. he declared the polls were closed.  The ballot box was unlocked and the ballots were reconciled by election inspectors Mr. Thomas Whitt, Mr. Dax Phillips and District Clerk Leslie Ferrante. The 562 ballots placed in the ballot box reconciled with the voters that signed the voter register.

 

Nine (9) absentee ballots were received by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. One (1) absentee ballot was invalid since it was lacking the voter’s signature on the absentee ballot envelope. It was verified that eight (8) of the absentee ballots received met the requirements and were opened. The valid absentee ballots were thoroughly mingled with the ballots from the ballot box for a total of  570 ballots.

 

Election inspectors Mr. Thomas Whitt, Mr. Dax Phillips and District Clerk Leslie Ferrante completed the tallying of the budget vote. 

At 10:28 p.m. Mr. Dax Phillips read the results of the May 16, 2023 Budget Vote and Board of Education Election as follows:

 

School Budget - PASSED

Yes Votes = 397         No Votes = 160

Shall the proposed budget of $26,292,350 for the 2023-2024 school year be approved?

 

Board of Education Election 2023

  1. Mr. John Finnegan was elected to a 3-year term effective July 1, 2023 with 395 votes.
  2. Ms. Deborah Napolitano was elected to a 3-year term effective July 1, 2023 with 363 votes.
  3. Ms. Barbara Klube-Falso received 172 votes.
  4. Mr. Robert Thornton received 116 votes.
