Our Gananda Middle School Student Congress hosted Chris from Open Door Mission (ODM) to present to them the 709 pairs of socks collected during "Socktober," along with 50 bagged lunches to distribute to those in need. Chris explained to our students the many ways ODM assists the Rochester community such as emergency housing and meals, clothing distribution, addiction recovery services, as well as the Coldwater Residential Home for Women and Children.
During the colder months in Upstate NY, ODM has an increase in requests for help from community members. Want to help? Basic need items such as hygiene products, non-perishable food, sheets, clothing and blankets are always in high demand. Please visit their website to find out more about specific needs and even ways to volunteer your time.
We are so thankful and PROUD of all of our students that participated in "Socktober" - you make us #GanandaProud!
A big "Thank You" to Open Door Mission for being such a valuable resource in the community!
