With pencils sharpened and calculators ready, Gananda's Math League students (A.k.a. Mathletes) were ready to compete in the home meet on Thursday, February 1. Joining students from East, Newark, Geneva, and Wayne school districts, nearly 100 students competed in the meet held at Ruben A. Cirillo High School.
Coming in second place at the home meet with a score of 48, our team also finished the regular season in second place with 172 points overall. Gananda's math league members are as follows:

Questions are derived from six categories including: Arithmetic, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Advanced, and a Bonus Category that can be any level. Each student competes in three of the categories at a meet, with meets held once a month from October through February.
The next meet, for those that qualify, will be the All County Meet at St. John Fisher on March 8.
