Construction is slated to begin during the first week of July to the entrances of both the Gananda Middle School and Richard Mann Elementary. Once construction begins, guests will need to enter Gananda Middle School at the loading dock entrance on the side of the building. To enter Richard Mann Elementary, guests will need to enter the door near the art wing. Signs will be posted to direct you to the correct location.
The middle school main office will remain in its original location throughout the summer, however, the elementary main office will be relocated temporarily to an art room in the art wing. Signs will be posted to direct you to the correct location.
In addition, the Gananda Central School District Office has been temporarily relocated to the annex building at the middle school, the current location of Gananda Preparatory Academy. If you need to visit the district office, please go to the double doors at the far end of the middle school, past the main entrance.
As a reminder, the track and varsity fields are also currently under construction. We do not anticipate completion of these until later this summer. The playground is available for the community's use and will be unaffected during these updates.
Broken into three construction phases, phase 1 of our Road to 2020 Capital Improvement Project includes work on the Richard Mann Elementary 5th grade classrooms, an upgrade to the pool locker rooms, entrance reconfiguration for both the Elementary School and Middle School, resurfacing of the track, and the addition of turf on the lacrosse and soccer field. Phase 1 is anticipated to be complete in August 2018.
The Road to 2020 project was approved by voters in December 2016. The project addresses a variety if needs within the district and provides improvements to our facilities in an effort to bring learning into the 21st century, showcase Blue Panther Pride and increase access to facilities, and enhance safety and security.
