As part of our ongoing effort to incorporate PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) within our district, students from Ruben A. Cirillo High School joined Gananda Middle School students for Mix It Up Day on Friday, November 30. Some of our high school students had lunch with our middle school students and facilitated a meet-and-greet discussion. The idea was to create a sense of unity between the students by allowing them to get to know one another. The goal is to help middle school students transitioning to the high school next year feel a little more at ease by knowing a familiar face. Another Mix It Up Day will be held in the spring. Additionally, the middle school students will be visiting the elementary school students in the spring in an effort to create a sense of unity for our younger students too.
